Skill Hire had the privileged to welcome the Hon Amanda Rishworth MP, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, to their Forrestfield site, along with the Member for Bullwinkel, Trish Cook MP and senior officials from the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.
During the visit, the success of Skill Hire’s Transition to Work program in the Great Southern and Wheatbelt was acknowledged, and the Minister was also able to meet with the team to witness how Skill Hire’s programs create meaningful opportunities for those furthest from employment. This included their innovative Tradestart pre-employment program which is designed to bridge the gap between foundation education and trade training. The also met the Try-a-Trade students getting their hands dirty and some apprenticeship training in action.
For more than 30 years, Skill Hire has supported individuals across Western Australia gain skills, training, and pathways into meaningful careers. It was wonderful to have Minister Rishworth visit and recognise their ongoing commitment to building employment and training opportunities across WA.
